Use it…or give it away!It's the era of recycling, and through our community partners we make sure office furniture, equipment, stationery and books the Bank no longer uses, goes to people and organisations that need it. In 2008, Deutsche Bank gave over £35,500 worth of gifts to 36 charitable organisations and schools. Family Service Units "Family Service Units join our young carers and unaccompanied young refugees in saying Thank You to Deutsche Bank for your gift of 100 rucksacks. These have quickly become all the rage and have been taken on many of our FSU outings. As each child has the same bag, we have noticed a dramatic drop in the amount of teasing and bullying between the children, helping everyone to get along better!" Dianne Flatt, Family Service Units Green-Works Deutsche Bank are now working with Green-Works for disposal of all our redundant furniture. Green-Works is a not-for-profit social enterprise, who collect furniture from us and other companies and sells it on at very low cost to organisations such as charities, community groups, schools, hospitals and small businesses. They have everything from desks to chairs, filing cabinets to pedestals, coat-stands to whiteboards and even stationery! Not just that but they offer a low cost delivery service to your door. In addition to the benefits of diverting furniture from landfill, Green-Works base their operations in deprived inner city areas to create jobs and training opportunities for disadvantaged and disabled people through community partnerships. |
