Employee Frequently Asked Questions
How many Deutsche Bank people volunteer?
In 2008, 14.7% of London staff volunteered with our Community Partners. Sixty community challenges took place involving 1,375 employees.

What support do volunteers at Deutsche Bank receive?
In volunteering with any of our community partners employees have the full support of the project team. One of the CSR UK team goes with each individual to an initial meeting where they receive a full briefing on their role as a volunteer with that particular organisation. From there each volunteer will always have a point of contact for the project and a point of contact at the Bank.

How does the Bank select the organisation that will be Charity of the Year?
National or international charities apply to the Charity of the Year Committee who review the applications and shortlist to approximately 6 charities. All staff are then invited to vote via an email broadcast for their preferred charity. The charity receiving the most votes then becomes the next Deutsche Bank Charity of the Year. Each partnership runs for one calendar year.

Why does the Bank match employee donations, rather than – say – give the money to its Charity of the Year?
The Bank recognises that employees will have certain charities that they are particularly passionate about, which may not necessarily be the current Charity of the Year. We want to help support the causes of interest to our staff and encourage more staff to donate to causes they care about by giving the incentive of knowing that their contribution will be doubled
