Community Development
With the help of 70 community partner organisations and 1300 volunteers, Deutsche Bank’s community programme – encompassing more than 140 long-term projects – leverages the Bank’s human and financial capital primarily to improve the economic and social prospects of disadvantaged communities on the fringes of the City. As well as relying on volunteer support, the Bank also gives around £3m each year to ensure the effectiveness of its projects.

The communities we work with face similar problems: low literacy levels, high unemployment (particularly among young people), public spaces in need of significant repair, and widespread feelings of isolation.

Deutsche Bank addresses these problems in several ways – by giving people the skills they need to get jobs, increasing access to entrepreneurial opportunities, helping people start businesses that help others (social enterprise), improving business literacy, encouraging active citizenship, and widening access to education, arts and culture.
